Two platforms of prophecy

(Resolving Personal & Spiritual Conflicts)
Isaiah 3:10 Say ye to the righteous, it shall be well with him. This week’s message is a sequel to the previous one on evil days ahead.
No matter how much evil or perilous a given period of time can be, God remains unchanged in His attitude towards the righteous and the wicked. His justice means rewarding the righteous and the wicked according to the work of their hands. He is a God of distinction.

He cannot treat the righteous and the wicked the same. God’s treatment of each soul is in accordance with its heart response to God’s revelation of His will. The righteous are those souls which believe in and accept God’s plan of salvation, His sovereignty over their lives and try as much as possible to line up their lives according to God’s pattern revealed in His word and through the leading of the blessed Holy Spirit. The wicked are those souls which determinedly and continually reject the revealed will of God and live their lives as they like according to the dictates of their hearts.

God’s speaking to us is always prophetic in the sense that His word is either revealing the mind of God in the present situation or it is foretelling what the future holds for us. And God speaks thus to us through His written word, His anointed servants or the indwelling Holy Spirit. We are expected thereafter to act on the known will of God and to order our lives in light of that revelation. So what we do or say in response to God’s speaking determines our status before God.

A status of righteousness when we choose to obey, and a status of wickedness when we choose to disobey. In light of this teaching, what can you say is your status before God?
It is said of Abraham that he believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness. His believing the word of God included accepting what God said as true and acting on what God said as well as ordering his life according to the revealed will of God.

As mentioned earlier on, in His communicating to us of His will God receives two general responses from us. Either we obey and we are seen as the righteous of God or we disobey and we are seen as the wicked in the sight of God.

And these are the two platforms on which all prophecy is based. The unfailing word of prophecy from God to the righteous is that it shall be well with you and the unchanging word of God to the wicked is that it shall be ill with you. God established these two never-failing platforms in Isaiah 3:10-11 when He instructed Isaiah, “Say you to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! It shall be ill with him: for the rewards of his hands shall be given him.”

In season or out of season, in good times or evil times, in good economy or bad economy, God’s constant declaration to the righteous ones is that it shall be well with them. Things may appear to be overwhelming and sinking you but as long as you are righteous God will give you divine strategies to come out victorious, successful and joyous in the end. God’s word cannot be broken; He means what He says.
It is a principle with God that the righteous will never be deserted or forsaken. God can and will move heaven and earth to see to it that it is well with the righteous. Sure tribulation may come, famine may strike, war may follow and evil may pursue but eventually it shall be well with the righteous. Psalm chapter 37 clears illustrates the happy state of the godly and the short-lived prosperity of the wicked. For instance Psalm 37:18, “The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.” Did you hear that?
The righteous are assured divine supplies, satisfaction and no shame in the evil days. It pays to be righteous even if you have very little material riches. Godliness is profitable to the righteous in this earthly life and in the heavenly one to come.

On the other hand, if you are living wickedly, no matter how much prosperous, successful or victorious you may seem to be today, in the end ill will be your fate. Psalm 37:35,36 says, “I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. Yet he passed away, and lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.” Do not be deceived; if you are righteous it shall be well with you. No prophecy whether of doom or hope can change that. And the same is true for the flip side.
