Warriors off to flying start, beat Mauritius
THE Zimbabwe national team got their 2015 Cosafa Cup campaign to a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Mauritius.
Zimbabwe had the upper hand throughout the match and applied pressure from the onset .Several chances came the Warriors way but they had to wait for Carlos Rusere to drill the ball into the net to take the lead in the 28th minute.
The Warriors went into the break well in control of the game.
Man of the match Ronald Chitiyo then made victory certain doubling Zimbabwe’s lead with a shot that deflected past Mauritian keeper Jean-Louis.
Zimbabwe were unfortunate not to be awarded a 3rd goal after Talent Chawapiwa’s effort appeared to have crossed the line but the assistant referee did not give the goal
Zimbabwe are now top of the group after the win with an earlier kick off between Namibia and Seychelles ending goalless.
