We were worried by Khama Billiat: Tembo
Kaitano Tembo feels his SuperSport United charges were too concerned about the pace of Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat.
A brace from Bradley Grobler helped the Tshwane outfit record a 2-2 draw with the Soweto giants in their first leg semi-final tie.
“We played well in patches. I’m not happy with our defending because I think we were more worried about Khama’s pace and we kept on dropping and dropping where sometime we were supposed to track and then release,” Tembo told SuperSport TV after the match.
“He’s [Khama Billiat] a very intelligent player, he can identify spaces where he can run to. He gave us problems today.
“In terms of our overall performance we played well. Two good goals from Bradley [Grobler]. I think the fight is still on we’re still going to go there and fight. It’s not over yet,” the Zimbabwean said.
Tembo revealed that the Chiefs equaliser early in the second stanza almost killed their morale but says fans could expect another cracking match in the second leg.
“We played better in the first half although we didn’t have a good start. In the second half we didn’t have a good start when they got that equaliser so early in the game that killed us a little bit. But we kept on going and we created a few chances. But credit to Chiefs they played well. I think we’ll still give the fans a good game in the second leg,” he said. – kickoff.com
