KAIZER Chiefs midfield enforcer Willard Katsande says Amakhosi are aiming to finish third in the league so that they can compete in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.

Chiefs’ 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows last weekend dashed their championship hopes, but Katsande insists the Glamour Boys still have ample motivation for their remaining three games.
Steve Komphela’s charges face fellow high-flyers Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium at 18h00 today before concluding their campaign with matches against Platinum Stars (May 17) and log leaders Bidvest Wits (May 27).
“Obviously there is still something to play for, we need to try to go to Africa, third place,” said Katsande.
“So how can we achieve that goal? By winning the last three games. So obviously going to Polokwane to grind out maximium points, it is very important for us.
“When you hold that African spot it means alot and we do have the experience of Africa. Many of the players have played Champions League and some of us are part of AFCON, so we just need to go to that spot for now,” concluded the Zimbabwean.
The Soweto giants are fifth on the Premiership standings with 47 points from 27 fixtures – five points shy of third-placed Cape Town City, but with a match in hand. – kickoff.com
