Toure, 35, saw his contract with the Greek giants terminated by mutual consent on Tuesday evening after just five games played upon his high-profile return.

English publication The Mirror has revealed that the veteran midfielder has returned with his family to their home in London and he is now lining up a potential Premier League return after the brief spell.

In a statement upon his exit, Olympiakos said: “Yaya is and remains an important member of the Olympiakos family, who has marked a central part of the history of the club.

“Olympiakos would like to thank him for everything he has offered to the club.”

After being substituted in each of his three starts for the club and coming off at half-time of a shock defeat to OFI Crete – the SuperLeague side thanked him for his efforts.

And it’s been claimed that his massive wages on his pay as you play deal were no longer financially viable for the club facing budget restrictions. – kickoff.com
