Zim-Asset causing policy discord

EDITOR — It’s interesting to see ZANU-PF politicians jostling for influence under the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (Zim-Asset) while in the process contradicting each other. We see government climbing down on the extremism of the indigenisation policy as promoted by minister Saviour Kasukuwere. Even more significantly, the fissures are being played out in the state media. Recently, Agriculture, Irrigation and Mechanisation Development Minister, Joseph Made, publicly refuted pronouncements by his deputy on the capacity of GMB and the sorry state of our national silos. These two examples highlight the confusion of how policy discord is chipping away the credibility of Zim-Asset. Here, we have politicians desperate to show that they are doing something to grow the economy when the reality is the opposite.
