THE Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has completed the refurbishment of the A’Zambezi River Lodge and the Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel, bringing its total investment in hotel renovations to US$26 million over the past five years.
The hotelier said the refurbishments are part of its broader strategic vision to create world-class destinations that seamlessly blend luxury, innovation, and sustainability.
RTG chief executive Tendai Madziwanyika said the investments reflect the group’s commitment to creating world-class destinations. He said the group was also committed to strengthening the country’s tourism industry.
“We are pleased to unveil the refurbished A’Zambezi River Lodge and Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel at an investment of US$380 000,” Madzivanyika said.
“This is a step forward in RTG’s vision to create world-class destinations. The Victoria Falls properties are key in the generation of much-needed foreign currency. With US$26 million invested in product upgrades over the past five years, these upgrades not only elevate guest experiences but also strengthen Zimbabwe’s tourism offering, driving national economic growth by attracting more local and international travellers.”
The A’Zambezi River Lodge in Victoria Falls — the only hotel situated on the banks of the Zambezi River — has 42 rooms that underwent extensive upgrades.
The refurbishment exercise at the four-star A’Zambezi River Lodge, commenced on January 6, 2025 and concluded on February 20, 2025.
The hotel has consistently earned the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence and Hall of Fame Award for service excellence — an accolade reserved for only 10 percent of businesses listed on Tripadvisor, awarded to those that consistently receive outstanding guest reviews.
The three-star Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel also benefited from an extensive facelift, with 44 rooms upgraded.
All rooms at the hotel have now been fully refurbished, with the first phase of renovations completed in 2018.
Conveniently located just a five-minute walk from the Victoria Falls town center, guests can easily explore the local attractions on foot, adding to the hotel’s appeal for both leisure and business travelers.
Early this month, RTG completed the US$500 000 upgrading of the New Ambassador Hotel, located in the heart of Harare’s Central Business District.
In July 2024, the group finished a US$5,2 million renovation of the Rainbow Towers Hotel and the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
The refurbishments solidify RTG’s commitment to enhancing Zimbabwe’s hospitality landscape while reflecting the group’s desire to innovate and enhance customer experience. — Staff Writer.
