Bias towards positive action
The reason why many institutions remain in the same state year after year is that the leaders are not prepared to take the appropriate action warranted. In most cases, the leader knows what should be done, but they fear doing the correct thing. The over-ruling question is: “Why are you a leader then if you are not prepared to take action?”
Some institutions are at an advantage without the so-called leaders who man the high offices. What these hyper-titled leaders do is helping in destabilising the free flow of events. Instead of making things happen positively, they are busy frustrating the few subordinates probably doing the rightful things. It’s time to check your record and determine whether you are taking the positive action that brings the preferred difference.
The action that you take should not be for the reason of doing something. There are many pretenders in the world of work who merely act to please others. These act as though they are doing something, but a closer look reveals that there is nothing of value being engaged in. As a leader, determine to do those things that bring worthwhile solutions to the establishment.
Your organisation is not interested in the level of activity that you show forth. Instead, the results that come to pass are the most important. When was the last time you contributed something of value to the institution that you work for?
Choose to be an asset to the organisation than a liability. Have a bias towards positive action than anything else.
