Beyonce sizzles at London gig

The singer dominated proceedings throughout, despite the avalanche of props and outfits during her show.
Her opening sequence included aggressive dancing and confetti cannons during “Crazy In Love”, while her outfits became increasingly outlandish — part Roman goddess, part WWF wrestler.
“I’m all about female empowerment,” she announced, while dressed as a sexy robot cheetah.
Her versatile voice roamed widely, taking in Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey-style power ballads on “Smash Into You”, hip-hop hustle on “Diva”, rock belting on a cover of Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” and near operatic heights on “Ave Maria”.
Occasionally, backing singers from her large, all-female band took over while she concentrated on spectacle: at one point she was suspended high above the crowd, air walking in gold heels during “Baby Boy”.
It’s amazing she made it to the gig at all after partying until Tuesday morning. After a night at a London nightclub, Movida, and 50 St James’s Casino, Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z casually walked straight through a police crime scene that had the audacity to be in their way.
The music royalty slapped a strict no-WAGS-and-footballers rule as they took over the nightclub. WAGS is an acronym for women and girlfriends of stars.
And there were plenty of people to keep away — the club was playing host to an end of season footballers’ bash.
Guests included Jermaine Jenas and a huge group of pals, Fulham stars Andy Johnson and Zak Knight, and Chelsea boys John Obi Mikel, Salomon Kalou, Didier Drogba and Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor.
A source said: “Beyoncé and Jay-Z had the top table in the VIP area and spent thousands on Cristal champagne and Belvedere vodka. Their security team was on strict orders, and none of the footballers or their mates got anywhere near them.
“They were joined by Beyoncé’s sister and 10 others, but only had two security guards. They had their hands full keeping everyone at bay.
“The couple are normally fairly private, but were being very tactile and ignoring the rest of their group. Beyoncé was singing along to Jay’s tune with him filling in the rapping parts.” — Mail Online.
