Just expect an answer!

After all, what we really need in response to our prayer requests is a positive answer, not knowledge of its preparation and mode of delivery. Whether the answer will come by road, by air, through a phone call or will be hand-delivered to you is God’s business.
Your business is to expect, to recognise and to receive the answer once it comes in your view.
God takes great pleasure in delivering His answers to our prayers in ways and at times we least expect them so that all the glory may be ascribed to Him alone.
The problem with our knowing how the answers are prepared and delivered to us is that we always want to help God. But we cannot help Him because we do not operate at the same mental frequency with God.
His thoughts are greater than ours and His ways higher than ours. God is the best “cook” of answers to our prayers and He does not need our help as too many cooks will spoil the broth.
In the Bible passage quoted above God promised to supply the joint Israelite army with water in the dry wilderness as they marched against the Moabites.
They had prayed for water and God told them to expect water only, and not to be worried about how the water would be supplied. God was reversing their way of thinking. He knew they were bent to really believe His promise if they saw the elements of rainfall formation like clouds blowing forward through the sky and hearing the moan of the rising wind. God wanted them to know that His ways are past finding out. He is El Shaddai, God Almighty who cannot be limited or be pinned down to a formula.
It is doubters who like to see God’s gifts on their way, or to have the sensible emotion of receiving them. Sometimes we have signs and symptoms that fill us with rapture but we are not to expect them as other times these are lacking and we will surrender ourselves to despair. Brethren, when we see neither wind nor rain God may be most mightily at work to answer us fully. Let us just tarry in praise and worship till the answer is made manifest.
Here is the application of this message: You might be a pastor who has laboured very much in prayer and fasting ardently desiring the signs of a powerful revival and you break your heart because the signs are not apparent.
Man of God if only you knew, the divine blessing is welling up in the ditches, doing more than would be the case if your wishes were gratified. God is not going to rain the blessings but to let rivers of living water flow out of the bellies of your flock. Keep expecting!  It is so in Christian experience and commercial circles, some expect to hear the sound of trumpets first before their prayer answers manifest.
Beloved, your answer will not come with thunder and lightning this time but in a still small voice. Just expect the final result! Relax and be still and see the salvation of the Lord. Do not expect God to break in through the front door or the back door; just expect Him to break in, period!
