Jive It goes to City of Kings, Queens

It has been almost a month since the concert was launched at the Harare Gardens and now it is to be held in Bulawayo with, if not more, of the same motivational momentum and force.
ZimRights has decided to take a lighter but high-spirited approach and use the concert as a platform to encourage and educate people to participate in the constitution-making process. The main goal is coming up with a people-driven constitution and so the concert intends to ensure that all citizens of Zimbabwe exercise their right to write their own constitution.
The use of various forms of entertainment has proven to be an effective way of disseminating information and in Zimbabwe, musical concerts have attested to being highly popular with the general public.
ZimRights has noted that while people are entertained by the various artists, they will take that opportunity to address the crowd on the significance of their participation and contribution to the constitution-making process.
ZimRights national director, Okay Machisa, highlighted that, “A brief statement or two by each artist encouraging people to make contributions of what they want in the new constitution, will go a long way”.
ZimRights is holding meetings and workshops in grassroot areas giving as much civic education as possible on the constitution-making process and the concert is part of the programme.
