New show to hit screens tonight

EVER wondered where superheroes go to relax? BBC Entertainment brings audiences across Africa “No Heroics”, a sitcom that answers that question.

The sitcom starts airing this evening and is available on the DStv bouquet. The series explores the loves and aspirations of four 20-something superhero friends — just like Superman or Spiderman, only much, much less successful.
So if you enjoy humour and love the wit of classic BBC Entertainment programmes, Lab Rats and My Hero then you will thoroughly enjoy No Heroics.
The series is set in modern-day Britain, in a world similar to yours and mine but with one small difference: there are superheroes.
The presence of superheroes in the world is commonplace, arriving not only to save people or avert disaster but also carrying out everyday tasks such as grocery shopping or taking a smoke break, all while in full costume.
Amongst this diverse crew of less-than-marvel-lous superheroes are The Hotness, who is able to heat up like a giant cigarette lighter and is desperate to be world famous for his powers. Electroclash, who controls machines with her voice and has a tempestuous relationship with The Hotness. Timebomb, a Spaniard who can see up to 60 seconds into the future.
Joining them is She-Force, the third strongest woman in the world who would rather spend her days waiting for Mr Right to come along and Excelsor, the most powerful superhero of his generation and the bane of The Hotness’s life.
Tune in and see how this group of B-listers would rather get depressed and commiserate over their lack of superiority (except Excelsor who is always keen to assert his) in their local superheroes-only pub, The Fortress, reading New Power Express and complaining about everyone who’s more successful than them.
