Appropriate furniture around your pool
In fact, the pool/patio area is an outdoor room that saves many functions as the family rooms inside your house. When choosing furniture for it, the same considerations will always apply.
Take style, for example. Patio furniture is often the most powerful element in establishing the pool style you want to create. Many use its design and colour to determine their choices for other elements, such as fencing, awning and ornaments.
In addition to good looks, think comfort. Is a dining chair a comfortable height for the table? Is the table big enough to accommodate extra guests? Some people prefer the softness of cushioned chairs and chaises. If you’re one of them, you’ll also have to think about where to store the cushions in winter months. Or you might opt for styles without cushions, with seats that are woven or made of open-worked construction that allows for the cooling effect of air circulation. Whichever you choose, test for comfort before you buy.
Convenience is ano-ther consideration. For example, in addition to a dining table, you’ll want tables alongside chaises and chairs for holding drinks and such. A storage container with a mini fridge for ice and cold drinks is also a handy patio addition, particularly if you don’t have a pool house with kitchen facilities. Some of these outdoor cabinets are made of wood and are actually quite handsome furniture pieces. Also, think about the multiuse factor. For example, the top of a standing storage container might double as a preparation or serving table. Sturdy, four legged stools (with or without cushions) could work as otto-mans, extra seating or handy surfaces for setting drink trays upon.
Last, but not least, is the matter of sheer practicality. Aside from being able to withstand hard wear and weather, patio furniture like chairs and chaises should be light enough to be easily moved but sturdy enough to stay put on gusty days. If your pool is near a natural body of water then sturdy becomes top priority. In that regard, an open- worked design (sans cushions) is often better because breezes flow through it rather than push against it.
Generally, cast aluminum is a good choice because, though lighter in weight than patio furniture of old, it still has sufficient heft to it and it’s completely rust-resistant and gives a lasting impression.
