Cast down evil imaginations

In actuality, our life experiences, both pleasant and painful, are the incarnation of our habitual thinking. They fit us like our skin yet many Christian brethren seeking resolution of their personal and spiritual problems do not seem to understand the connection between our imaginations and our life experiences.
Have you realised yet that where the mind goes, the man follows?
It is true that the ancestor of every action is a thought.
Proverbs 23:7 which says that as a man thinks in his heart so is he, is a scriptural confirmation of the power of imagination. A better understanding of this vital connection between our actions and our thoughts can significantly reduce the frequency, and mitigate the gravity of our problems.
The descendants of Noah’s imagination to build a tower that would reach heaven was incredible. But God Himself believed in the power of their imagination and acknowledged their ability to accomplish their ambitious vision. He came down to confuse and scatter the ambitious builders so as to stop them from accomplishing the object of their imagination. This story serves to ratify the power of imagination. But why did God choose to stop that grand building project? It was out of sync with His will. God’s will was for them to multiply and fill the earth but they thought of building an empire and staying together in one place. You see that imagination has the potency to cause things to happen in our lives. Furthermore if you imagine evil, evil happens and if you imagine good, good follows.
Thus the power of imagination can be used constructively or destructively. Stop imagining vain things and foster mental images of wholesome things and wonderful events. Paul had a revelation of the efficacy of imagination in causing things and events to happen.
In 2 Corinthians 10:5 he commanded believers to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. In short, we must cast down evil imaginations and uphold good ones. The people of God in Isaiah’s time had starved their imagination of God by looking on the face of idols and Isaiah made them look up at the heavens, that is, he made begin to use their imagination aright.
If the people continued to behold idols, idol-worship would result. If they turned their faces towards God, godliness would result. What are you imagining right now? Success or failure? Good news or bad news? Wholesome things or obscene? Some misguided wife imagined her husband having an affair with his secretary and it was not long before her dreams were realised. Starve negative imaginations and feed positive ones and your life experiences will be positive. You are a garden mentally speaking, you only reproduce after the kind of seeds planted in you.
