Manchester United claimed bragging rights, Tottenham Hotspur maintained their title challenge, while Southampton fought back at Liverpool’s expense in the Premier League on Sunday.

United edged derby rivals Manchester City 1-0 courtesy of teen sensation Marcus Rashford’s 16th minute goal at the Etihad Stadium.

The Red Devils are now a point behind fourth-placed City after 30 games apiece.

Tottenham dispatched lowly Bournemouth 3-0 as Harry Kane hit a brace before Christian Eriksen added a third goal after the break at White Hart Lane.

Spurs are five points behind log leaders Leicester City with seven matches left.

Southampton rallied from two goals down to upset Liverpool 3-2 at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge fired the Merseysiders ahead in the opening stanza.

However, Sadio Mane struck either side of Graziano Pelle’s goal late on to snipe the points.

The Saints are seventh on the table with 47 points from 31 games – four points behind the Citizens in the final Champions League spot, and three points ahead of the Reds.

Newcastle salvaged a 1-1 draw with neighbours Sunderland, as Aleksandar Mitrovic netted an 83rd minute goal to cancel out Jermain Defoe’s opener on the stroke of half-time at St James’ Park.

The result leaves both sides in the relegation zone, with the Black Cats a point ahead. KickOff.com
