Fragrance your home

There is a self-indulgence aspect, when a fragrance reminds someone of a special treat or indulgence, albeit without the calories. Hence, dual function is a definite trend in the marketplace, with reed diffusers, bamboo sticks, and eco-friendly and natural materials as popular trend forms.
Home fragrance has two aspects, one is for problem solution and another is for ambiance. However, the two mediums are beginning to blend. Home fragrance now revolves around aesthetic appeal as well as function; and candles are starting to include odour-eliminating properties.
Essential oils are oils derived from the actual plant, root, fruit, herb, leaf, bark, etc usually through distillation. They are used in aromatherapy diffusers, aromatherapy lamps, blends, baths, massages and inhalations. Because essential oils are more natural, many prefer them for their aroma therapeutic properties.
Fragrance oils, on the other hand are derived from synthetic compounds. Because there are so many more synthetic compounds available than natural ones, a much wider variety of scents is available (many scents can not be distilled as essential oils). Fragrance oils also tend to have a longer “staying” power and do not dissipate into the air as rapidly. However, fragrance oils do not offer the calibre of therapeutic benefits that essential oils offer. The term home fragrance oils refers to both essential oils (home fragrance oils derived from the actual plant, root, fruit, herb, leaf, bark, etc) and to fragrance oils (home fragrance oils derived from synthetic compounds). Home fragrance oils are used to enhance the ambience of a room, and in the case of home fragrance oils based on essential oils, as Aromatherapy
The American market for candles and home fragrances reached US$8,4 billion in 2004, a growth of 14,1 percent over previous year. Driven by consumers’ desire for their homes to smell good, some 80 percent of all adult Americans bought some kind of home fragrance product in the past year, including candles and candle accessories, sprays, plugs-ins, room fresheners, potpourris, air fresheners, air purifiers and more.
Scented candles range from traditional vanilla and bayberry scents to spicy cinnamon, flowery jasmine and even exotic scents, such as ginger. The fragrances used in candles generally are a combination of natural and synthetic materials, which are safe, high-quality ingredients that are found in many popular consumer items, such as perfumes, soaps, shampoos, or personal-care products. Nearly all of the millions of people who use scented candles every day have positive responses. But, just as some people are allergic to certain foods, flowers or plants, it is possible that a handful of consumers may react negatively to certain candle scents. People with known fragrance sensitivities or allergies avoid purchasing candles featuring those scents, and always remember to burn candles in a well-ventilated room.
The reed diffuser is becoming very popular in field of home fragrances. The reed diffuser is smoke, wax, mess, and flame free. The simple elegance of the reed diffuser design enhances the aesthetics of any room environment. The reed diffuser releases a refreshing fragrance for months at a time and a reed diffuser can be placed almost anywhere, even the office. The reed diffuser delivers fragrance with a distinct yet simple wicking system of reeds. Fragranced liquid seeps up through the reeds of the reed diffuser allowing scent to fill the room. The reed diffuser uses essential oils as the base of their fragrances allowing the reed diffuser to not just add scent to a room but to allow the therapeutic properties or essential oils into the room as well. The many advantages of the reed diffuser is making its popularity soar.
The best way to diffuse essential oils is to ionise them into the air, a job the reed diffuser does exceptionally well.
Using heat to diffuse oils breaks down the molecular structure of the essential oil and keeps you from getting the full therapeutic and aromatic value of the oil itself.
The cold diffusion of a reed diffuser preserves the delicate balance of the oil’s chemical structure keeping it much more effective. Additionally, the reed diffuser is designed to conserve your essential oil.
A few tips for a home fragranced all day, every day:
– Place a small bouquet of fresh cut eucalyptus and large white roses on the sink in my powder room.  Then spritz Clarins Home Spray into the air and on hand towels.
A spritz or two into the air instantly fills the room with scent, awakening the very essence of what makes you feel truly at home. Voila – the bathroom not only looks gorgeous, but it smells gorgeous, too!

– The Clarins Home scented candle is an absolute favorite, a beautiful jar holds a candle scented with Basil and Patchouli that will become a flame of refinement for any home.
I adore its wintry, woody fragrance so much that it has become my home’s signature scent (my friends always mention how wonderfully my home smells)!  It’s also a special gift to give and looks decorative, a scented candle that lights up the soul of the warmest homes filling the air with its luxurious notes and the refined softness of its gentle glow.
– After a long, outdoor walk, I relax by taking a long, hot bath with Clarins relax bath and shower concentrate.  The scent mixed with the Clarins home diffuser comforts and calms my entire body.
