Have fresh start at Vanilla Moon

Even parts of the grass looked beige. The floor tiles were beige and the walls had slogans about saving the planet because it is the only one with chocolate etc. It may look much better on a sunny day.
It’s quite a power trip this writing a restaurant column, and I think it must show because the head waiter told the waitress to put me inside and personally seated me at a nice table.
I kept my jacket on though as tiled floors are cold especially when the sun comes out for seventeen seconds and makes it look warmer outside.
Tiled floors are also noisy and this place is popular so it was not quiet, especially after Limani arrived to find a bunch of her friends having lunch at the large table next to us.
She ordered a Vegetable Pizza Pannini without the salami. The Pot Pies on Special sounded tempting but our server was unable to explain what they were so I ordered a Mediterranean Vegetable Wrap. Limani wanted a Coke Zero, which they did not have so she settled for a Coke Light.
She held up her knife, it was so thin that it looked as if it had been stamped out of sheet metal. But much worse, the pannini arrived with salami.
This was whisked back to the kitchen and mercifully did not reappear a few minutes later, with the salami picked out, as she has been strictly vegetarian since birth. But it did mean I was over half way through my meal when hers arrived.
We shared a delicious Millionaire’s Shortbread with a butterscotch and chocolate topping for pudding but ran out of time for a coffee.
Vanilla Moon offers good freshly cooked food, which is well presented, the quantity is right and our meal was reasonably priced at US $19. I liked the menu choice, they do breakfasts, sandwiches, wraps and treats and have a good selection of hot and cold drinks including I was pleased to see, green and herbal teas. They will do takeaways and bake for special occasions and usually have Coke Zero!
