How to look after your eyes

CLARINS
A healthy and beautiful eye is one of the greatest gifts of God to us. It helps us to see the fascinating world and gives us the opportunity to admire the beauties of the vast wide world and enrich our senses with bewitching experiences.

We must always take utmost care to retain this precious gift of us by all means as otherwise we will just be enwrapped within a blindfold losing the charm of life.
Here are some useful eye care and make-up tips that will assist us in the process of retaining our eye sight, a better life as well as keeping away essential hazards like wrinkles and dark circles around the eyes.
Younger looking eyes
The first step is to reduce fine lines. So apply a little eye cream on the brow bone and under the eye. Next dab on a concealer that matches your skin tones. The last step is to line the eye with a white pencil just beneath the lash line. This will give the impression of larger and brighter eyes.
No matter if blue, brown, hazel or green, eyes have been referred to as windows to the soul, giving those who exchange glances the power to better grasp one’s personality and emotions. Eyes reveal joy and elation as much as they uncover sadness, melancholy and distress.
Sometimes pensive, mischievous or mysterious, eyes can let us in on little secrets we might otherwise miss in dealings with people we know and love.
Eyes can exercise a special power of seduction by casting an enchanting gaze in another’s direction. A wink can signal a special understanding or remind another of an inside joke or amusing memory. Eyes also key into flirtation a great deal. Cartoons and old movies always show the femme fatales batting their long, dark eyelashes in an attempt to attract the men.
The main makeup components you may want to consider when dressing up your pretty peepers are mascara, eye shadow and possibly eyeliner, though sometimes pressed powder or a light foundation will work wonders for circles under the eyes.
Eleven ways to stop your eyes making you look older
Take your eye makeup off properly every night without fail.
Do not rub hard to get off’ mascara as it could cause your lashes to fall out. If you wake up in the morning with telltale black smudges under each eye, you will know you need to rethink your makeup removal procedure.
Use an eye moisturising cream every night. This delicate skin area needs extra nourishment, as it is one of the first places to spot the signs of aging. Choose from creams, gels or fluids and pat it into the skin — NEVER DRAG.
Too much alcohol will definitely leave you with black rings under your eyes.
Not nice to hear but try to restrict your intake to the correct guidelines. You will sleep better and wake up feeling better as well as having fresher looking eyes. The medically approved guide to drinking levels is
Women — 14 units per week
Men — 21 units per week
Wear good quality sunglasses in bright light.
This will stop you squinting and help keep fine lines at bay. Your eyesight will be protected from harmful UVA rays as well.
Try not to spend too long staring at your computer. If your work involves sitting in front of your PC for long periods, make sure you look away at least every 15 minutes.
Taking regular exercise will not only help keep you fit but will increase blood circulation resulting in a glow to the skin. This, in turn, will reflect in your eyes.
Your diet should include the correct vitamins and minerals to aid your vision and keep your eyes in optimum health.
Use subtle eye makeup especially during daylight hours when the light can be so cruel. Too much will only emphasise any dry skin and/or lines.
Definitely don’t smoke. Need I go on about the effect smoking will have on your eyes. Lines and wrinkles will be with you always.
Last of all try to relax and stop frowning  so much. This adds years to you and can be stopped by just not doing it. Make an effort to control your facial muscles.
Another thing that makes us frown is anger. Well, again this can be controlled. Look around you at the world and realise that for most of us, anger is simply a negative attitude that is destructive leaving you drained and looking inevitably older.
Remedies for puffy eyes
For many people, the eye area is a real problem. This is one of the first areas to show the signs of ageing and is also a problem area for fluid retention.
Here are some tips on caring for the delicate eye area:
Certain moisturisers should not be applied to the eye area as they cause it to swell up.
Separate eye creams/gels are a must if you suffer with puffy or ageing eyes.
Hold a metal spoon under cold running water for a few minutes and then gently press it onto the eye area to soothe, cool and reduce swelling.
Thin cucumber slices are an old remedy, but still a good one for reducing puffiness and soothing tired, sore eyes.
Haemorrhoid creams containing sharks liver oil and/or yeast applied to the puffy area, are fantastic for reducing swelling.
Soak used tea bags in cold water for around ten minutes (making sure they are really cool) and place them on the puffy area. Start at the outside of the eye and roll them gently inwards.
Elevate your head when you sleep to encourage fluid to drain away from the eye area.
Place a slice of raw potato underneath your eyes. The potassium in them counteracts dark circles.
Diet, again! Avoid salty foods as these can cause fluid retention.
