Itai back home

Itai was evicted from the Big Brother house a week before the grand finale which saw Nigerian, Kevin, walk away with a cheque of a whopping US$200 000 winner’s prize.
Itai said he was humbled by the support he had received from his Zimbabwean fans.
“I come from a humble background and to think that all those people were at the airport to welcome me, is just amazing.
“Before I entered the Big Brother house, I was just a simple guy, unknown to Zimbabwe, but now the show gave the opportunity to be a star. I now appreciate that anything is possible given the simple fact that I came from very humble beginnings.”
After his arrival at the airport, Itai held a press conference at a local hotel in the afternoon where he explained his trials and tribulations in the house. He said his stay in the house had changed his whole life.
“I didn’t think I would get this far. It was like going back in time.“My stay in the house gave the opportunity to reflect on my life. I used to think about the mistakes I had made in life . . . and it really taught me to cherish your freedom.
“When you are in the house, you are like in a cage where you do not have the freedom to do anything you want . . . and for the first time, I learnt that we take life for granted,” he said.
Itai said he would be looking at going back to his studies.
Before going on to the reality TV series, he was studying towards a Masters in Peace and Governance at the Africa University in Mutare.
Meanwhile, Itai’s eviction party will be held at the Stars night club at the Rainbow Towers tomorrow evening. The event is the brainchild of local club and radio DJs.
