Motswana Jazz sensation for Zim Cultural fiesta

Motswana Afro Jazz sensation Thabang Garogwe of Ke a Gana fame is expected to perform in the country on Valentine’s Day (February 14) at the Green Ambassador’s Cultural Fiesta slated for Harare International School in the capital.Known to a legion of his fans as T-boss, Thabang started his music career at a tender age as a gospel musician.
In 2006, he recorded his first gospel album. However, his prominence raised to greater heights a couple of years ago after releasing his first jazz album, Ke a Gana.
According to media reports in Botswana, the 35-year-old musician is rocking the airwaves with his latest album, Moratiwa Nkamogele which is rich with words of wisdom on how lovers can protect and cherish the marriage institution.

The album has a dominant theme of true love, acceptance, endurance and tolerance-which are the cornerstones of a marriage-while also touching on a few social issues of life. 
The Green Ambassador’s Cultural Fiesta event which is a brainchild of musician and goodwill ambassador for water conservation and zero littering Dereck Mpofu will see a total of 10 countries and cultures being represented.
Mpofu told the Financial Gazette that said preparations of the must attend event are already at an advanced stage with musicians billed to perform raring to go.

“The Green Ambassador’s Cultural Fiesta is aimed at embracing a diversity of cultures through love hence we suitably chose St Valentine’s Day to host the event,” said Mpofu.
 “For this rare Valentine’s Day celebration event we have also invited ambassadors from 10 countries and asked them to bring their traditional dishes and clothes to have a cultural exchange in a romantic way”.
According to Mpofu people are going to sample different traditional foods from the 10 countries that include Fufu from Nigeria and Tofu from Japan.
Poetry, dance and music galore will be the order of the day with top artistes billed to perform.

Motswana Jazz sensation Thabang will be performing as the guest artiste, Albert Nyathi will be representing the sweet side of poetry, Willis Wataffi Afirika of the Wanga fame, Adiona Maboreke, Farefi Edward and Hope Masike among others are expected to thrill the fans with their energetic performances.

According to Mpofu some top government officials who include minister of Tourism, Walter Mzembi among others has been invited to add decency to the event.
Mpofu said to those who will be gracing the event must be dressed in cultural wear.
 “As a cultural event I anticipate that those who are going to come and have fun be dressed in their culture wear”.

Meanwhile, tickets of the event are currently on sale and they are going for US$30 for individuals and US$25 each for a couple including buffet menu of traditional food one can eat from at least five countries.
