FORMER Orlando Pirates forward Jerry Skhosana believes in-form striker Tendai Ndoro has what it takes to win the top scorer award this season.

Ndoro has gotten off to a flyer in 2016/17, netting five goals in two league games for the Buccaneers. The Zimbabwean hit a hat-trick against Golden Arrows on August 24 before bagging a brace against Ajax Cape Town last night.

Skhosana believes new Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral is just the man to get the best out of Ndoro.

“I have said before that with a coach like Muhsin at Pirates, Ndoro is bound to do well this season,” Skhosana tells KickOff.com.

“They seem to be enjoying a good relationship, that’s important for a striker. I had that kind of relationship with [Victor] Bondarenko at Pirates. He would always say, ‘look Jerry, you are a good striker’, and that motivated me to do well on the field.

“It’s still early to talk about the top goal scorer award, but if he stays in a good relationship with Muhsin and remains injury-free he has a chance.”

Meanwhile, ‘Legs of Thunder’ feels it is too early to tell whether the log leaders can go the distance in the title race.

“It’s still early for now. All the three big teams have a chance. It depends on how they respond to Muhsin. They need to work hard, be disciplined and remain consistent,” concludes the 47-year-old. Kickoff.com
