CABS takes centre stage at ZAS 2026

CABS is deepening its engagement with Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector, using the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) as a platform to strengthen relationships with farmers, businesses, customers and the wider public while showcasing its support for the country’s productive economy.

The bank’s growing presence at ZAS reflects an increasingly broad approach to the annual event, with CABS moving beyond a conventional exhibition presence to participate in activities that combine business engagement, brand visibility and community interaction.

The 2026 ZAS, was held under the theme “Powering Growth: Where Agriculture, Technology and Commerce Converge”.

For CABS, the show provided an opportunity to demonstrate how its role in agriculture extends beyond traditional banking services to supporting businesses across the agricultural value chain.

A key feature of CABS’ growing involvement was the Brands Parade, which the financial institution led on the opening day of ZAS.

The parade has become an important part of the bank’s presence at the show, bringing participating brands into the spotlight while creating a lively opening to the annual exhibition.

CABS also hosted CABS Day on the Official Opening Day of ZAS, providing another platform for customer engagement and interaction with the wider public.

The day combined business and brand activities with entertainment and culminated in a music concert, extending CABS’ presence at the show beyond its traditional financial-services role.

The activities point to a broader strategy by the bank to use ZAS as a platform for engagement with the different players who contribute to Zimbabwe’s agricultural and commercial ecosystem.

Agriculture remains an important component of that strategy, with the bank supporting a range of activities across the sector.

Its agricultural offering includes solutions for businesses involved in purchasing produce from smallholder farmers, supplying agricultural inputs and contract farming, as well as financing production, working capital and capital equipment.

The approach recognises that agricultural development does not end with production.

Farmers require inputs and equipment, aggregators need to move produce to market, processors need to add value, while traders and exporters require support to connect Zimbabwean products with domestic and international markets.

By engaging businesses across these different stages, CABS is seeking to support a more connected agricultural value chain.

The bank has previously highlighted its involvement in a range of agricultural activities, including tobacco, horticulture, grain production and dairy, reflecting the diversity of Zimbabwe’s agricultural economy.

Its focus on agriculture also comes at a time when the country is seeking to increase productivity, strengthen value addition and develop more resilient agricultural value chains.

ZAS provides a natural platform for these conversations because it brings together producers, manufacturers, technology companies, financial institutions, government agencies and consumers.

The evolution of CABS’ participation at the show therefore reflects the changing role of ZAS itself.

Rather than being viewed only as an agricultural exhibition, the event has increasingly become a meeting point for agriculture, commerce, technology, industry and consumer-facing businesses.

For CABS, this creates an opportunity to engage with the agricultural sector while simultaneously strengthening relationships with the broader business community.

The Brands Parade and CABS Day added another dimension to that engagement, allowing the bank to connect its productive-sector focus with activities that are accessible to a much wider audience.

The music concert that closed CABS Day, in particular, provided a consumer-facing element to the bank’s ZAS presence, helping create interaction beyond formal business discussions and financial-services conversations.

As CABS continues to deepen its involvement in ZAS, the annual show is becoming more than a place for the bank to showcase its products. It is increasingly a platform through which CABS can demonstrate its commitment to agriculture, business, innovation, customer engagement and the broader Zimbabwean economy.
