DHL…no one does it better

DHL has added the MotoGP World Championship to its extensive list of motorsport clients.

The global logistics company has signed a three-year deal to sponsor the leading motorcycling series as well as its Moto2 and Moto3 support classes.

Each season, DHL will transport 80 bikes and some 350 tons of equipment by sea, air and road, covering approximately 90,000km in support of the nine-month circuit.

In return, the company will receive prominent track-side advertising at all 18 MotoGP races each year, event hospitality and logo usage rights for marketing purposes.

“This new partnership with the MotoGP World Championship, the oldest motorsport series in the world and the premier racing event on two wheels, further showcases that DHL is the provider of choice to the motorsport and automotive sectors,” said Ken Allen, the chief executive of DHL Express.

“We are very excited about having the opportunity to get behind the handlebars of the championship’s logistics operation and to offer high quality international shipping services to all involved in MotoGP.”

Other DHL-sponsored motorsport properties include Formula One, Formula E, the Andretti Autosport IndyCar team, Kalitta Motorsports, the Red Bull Air Race series, and the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

“I am very pleased to have reached this agreement with a company like DHL because the result will be very beneficial for both parties,” said Pau Serracanta, the managing director, commercial area at MotoGP promoter Dorna.- sportsprodailydeal.com
