Manchester City midfielder Fernando has warned his teammates not to respond to Diego Costa’s provocations on Sunday.

City face Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round, with the Blues in particular desperate for success given their woes in the League.

Fernando says Costa will again try his best to “wind them up”, but that they must focus on the whole of Chelsea and not just one player.

He told The Sun: “We know what he is like, what he will do. Costa is always the same. He tries to obstruct opponents, to wind them up. But we know what to expect from him. He always tries to provoke.

“What we have to do is ignore this, to concentrate on ourselves, to focus on what we can do to win the game. There are other players in the Chelsea team to think about anyway.

“What we cannot allow ourselves to do is obsess about Costa.” KickOff.com
