LeBron James breaks social media silence, takes aim at critics

CLEVELAND, Ohio — LeBron James has ended his social media silence on the heels of leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA title against the Golden State Warriors Sunday night.

After delivering on his 13-year promise — rallying the Cavaliers from a 3-1 series deficit — James wanted to make something perfectly clear: The four-time MVP wasn’t pleased with the chatter surrounding him and his teammates the last two years.

He repeatedly said he didn’t listen to outside noise. Turns out, that wasn’t true. He heard it all and unloaded with an unfiltered rant on Instagram Monday.

“They said u lost a step, wasn’t explosive as once was, the best days was in the real (rear) view, questioned your drive, your leadership, your commitment, you don’t have killer instinct, going back home is the worst mistake in your career,” James wrote.

He was just getting started.

“He got the coach fired, players traded, won’t work between him and Kyrie (Irving), Him and Kev (Kevin Love) won’t work, love your teammates to much, there’s no way he can deliver a championship in his hometown, etc etc etc. But guess what THATS NONE OF MY BUSINESS.”

Drama surrounded the Cavs since James returned from Miami, a two-year stretch where expectations were at an all-time high. With a star-studded roster, every move, comment and sign of poor body language was placed under the microscope. Every stumble became magnified, especially after head coach David Blatt was fired following a 30-11 start this year, something that led to more heat on James.

None of that matters anymore. The questions will stop — for now. James’ epic Finals performance silenced many and he has his third title, the one he coveted most.

His social media break started on April 16. It’s over now. Zero Dark Thirty – 23 has officially been deactivated. – cleveland.com
