Man United face Aubameyang battle with Real Madrid

during the DFB Cup Round of 16 match between 1. FC Saarbruecken and Borussia Dortmund at Ludwigspark Stadion on December 3, 2013 in Saarbruecken, Germany.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Manchester United will reportedly need to fork out £70-million if they wish to sign Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

United have been monitoring the 26-year-old since Dortmund played Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League in 2009.

However, Aubameyang’s value has continued to rise following his exploits in the Bundesliga. The African Football of the Year has plundered 37 goals this season, attracting a slew of suitors and prompting his club to slap a hefty price tag on him.

The Red Devils’ chief threat for his signature appears to be Real Madrid, while Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have also registered their interest.

Aubameyang has previously expressed a desire to play for Los Blancos in the future, with the club also offering him the prospect of Champions League football. Kickoff.com
